A strong sprinkler plan review checks the project information, design criteria, drawings, riser details, hydraulic calculations, water supply, coordination, and submittal requirements before the package reaches the AHJ.

- Verify occupancy, hazard classification, storage, and design criteria.
- Coordinate sprinklers and piping with ceilings, structure, HVAC, lighting, and fire alarm devices.
- Match plans, riser diagram, schedules, notes, and hydraulic calculations.
1. Project information and code basis
Check the owner, address, designer, drawing index, applicable codes, adopted editions, system type, occupancy, and authority having jurisdiction. State the design area, density or flow criteria, and water-supply basis clearly.
2. Layout and coverage
Review room names, dimensions, ceiling heights, sprinkler spacing, obstructions, pipe sizes, branch lines, mains, valves, drains, test connections, and areas of coverage. Confirm that every space is addressed.
3. Riser, details, and calculations
Make sure the riser identifies control valves, alarms, backflow protection, gauges, drains, fire department connection, and monitoring points. Verify that node numbers, pipe lengths, elevations, flows, pressures, losses, and safety margin agree with the drawings.
4. Final submission check
Confirm scale, legends, notes, revision dates, signatures or stamps when required, and all AHJ forms. Resolve conflicts before submission so the reviewer receives one consistent plan package.
